Did you know there are more than two million Women Military Veterans nationwide and more than 150,000 of them call Florida home?

Northeast Florida has the largest representation of Women Veterans within the state of Florida. Zahara Veterans Network, Inc. was established to serve the unique needs of Women Veterans and connect them to the resources needed to positively impact their families and communities.

3 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Women Veterans:

1.) Many Women Veterans do not publically acknowledge their contribution of service to the nation,   which oftentimes leads to a lack of utilization of available programs

2.) The Woman Veteran population is expected to increase at an average rate of approximately 18,000 per year for the next 10 years (quoted from the Women Veterans Report, Department of Veteran Affairs, February 2017)

3.) More than half of all Women Veterans have served during the Gulf War Era (August 1990 to the present)
